The Youth Council of Ohrid was formed on 8th December 1999, and starting operating as a legal entity on 24th February 2000.

The vision of the Youth Council of Ohrid is to become a Youth Center,
leader in youth policy in the region and partner with a local
government, with recognized image in the country;
Center with stabile
financial structure, permanent employment and build system of promote
and award.

The Association Mission is transfer of the course of young
population towards activities led by the Non Governmental
Organizations, providing at the same time a lot of entertainment,
companionship and communication. The Youth Council of Ohrid works on
affirmation of young people about promotion of there interest,
developing there creativities, in a way of building and developing of
youth policy and participation on local level.
The other activities are popularization of the Macedonian cultural
heritage, folk opus, traditions, cultural beauties, Macedonian history,
science, as well as all aspects of the Macedonian society in Macedonia,
as well as internationally.
Also the association works on development of solidarity in the
environment of acting, protection of human rights and freedom, throwing
away the violence, communication, collaboration, development of
non-violent methods as unique precondition for protection of the
freedom, realization of justice and achievement of democratic,
economic, social and environmental welfare for everybody equally.
The Youth Council of Ohrid is managed by the Council, as the
highest organ, electing from its representatives an Executing Board,
which is the executing organ of the Council. The Youth Council of
Ohrid elects a President from its representatives, and the Association
is also represented by the General Secretary.
For successful work, the Youth Council of Ohrid prepares Strategic plan
and Annual Working Program. The work itself i.e. the realization of the
foreseen activities is carried out with work in sectors. The Youth
Council of Ohrid carries out its activities through: the sector for
youth policy and participation, environmental sector, sector for
democracy, human rights and gender senzibilization, sector for EU
integration and international cooperation and high school-voluntary
sector.
There is a Manager for each sector, and volunteers get involved for realization of the projects.
In the period since its formation up to date, the Association has
prepared many projects that attracted particularly young people’s
attention.
